Our Experts

Alex Reynolds

Managing Partner

My training and early years with a Global accountancy practice, provided a sound background and supported my chartered accountancy qualification. I managed a portfolio of audit and non-audit clients before being headhunted during a recession for a Finance Director position by a client in the construction industry.

Construction Industry in a recession… I understand the challenges better than most.

Now managing my own firm of chartered accountants my ‘real-world’ business experience really allows me to understand and support my growing portfolio of SME clients. I know how important it is to understand the bones of your business, not just the Accountancy compliance.

Martin Collins

Director

During my career I’ve had successes working in the PLC world and the SME sector as an owner manager; I’ve enjoyed the cut and thrust of the challenges at the coal face and I’ve sat in negotiations around boardroom tables in the City, and I know my passion lies with the SME sector.

I am really enjoying supporting and growing my own businesses which succeed by working with successful clients albeit sometimes our client doesn’t yet realise how successful they are. I get the importance of well structured and organised businesses but I really get the importance of ensuring the drive and passion of the business owner isn’t held back. My experience makes sure businesses play to the strengths of the team and then allow us support the rest. The quality of your advisors and support mechanisms will always make the difference, the key is knowing how good they are.

Jo Hancock

Director of Operations

As a graduate in Hospitality Management, I started my working life in the hotel industry and quickly identified that I had a passion for strategy, problem-solving, and delivering great customer service. Following an internal opportunity, I moved into the field of project management and have been involved in a plethora of projects including an office build, 2 full business relocations, 2 global finance system implementations, and a global Sales CRM system implementation to name but a few.

Having experienced the highs and lows of both the Corporate PLC and SME worlds, I believe my heart lies with the SME sector. I am excited to be back where I belong, at the heart of our business overseeing all operational aspects of company strategy, helping to set strategic goals, and working with our fantastic team to deliver outstanding service to our clients.

Mike Ball

Corporate Strategy Partner

I am an accountant by training, not intuition, and have always relished the challenges of working with business owners. In a commercial world often hampered by legislation, the risk of making mistakes and the fear of the unknown can be daunting. Having advised over 1500 businesses at all levels, there is very little that I haven’t seen.

Unlike many in this profession, I have experienced owning and growing companies, taken commercial risks, directly advised on all levels of M&A work, specialised in developing trading structures, and advised on efficient national and international tax strategies. A common thread of all these has been working alongside talented entrepreneurs, to help them get ahead and to where they want to be.
